There have been thing I've wanted to write about lately, but for… - Speak Friend and Enter
Grammar and Lord of the Rings
There have been thing I've wanted to write about lately, but for whatever reason they're not getting written down yet. Maybe it's because I keep forgetting all the things I want to say about it and I hate going back and adding stuff.

I like being called a dork.

I got to go into the office today for a couple hours. The people on the first floor moved up to the 9th floor, and so of course we, the IT people, got to hook up and plug in all the moved computers. There were only about 30 and between the 7 of us, we were done in less than 2 hours. Some had to be moved around a little bit, and I already know that we will have users complaining and bitching about it Monday morning. The reason your computer cart is not where you asked for it to be put is because there was no place to plug it in there, bitch!!! Computer users have no fucking respect for our jobs. We're just at their beck and call and if they don't like what we have to say (i.e. your computer will take longer than 2 minutes to fix) then we never hear the end of it. I'm glad I won't be doing this for a long time. I might lose it....

I am listening to Metal Gina's show right now on KDVS in Davis. She rules. She is the only girl I know that is into death metal (well, offline that is). I've tried to get her to be on my show but no luck so far.

Scott gave me a copy of diecast's full length CD today. This band is sweet. Like hardcore, only more brutal.

After I left work, I went to campus - after a stop at Subway for requisite sustenance - for a remote for the station. I didn't actually know what we were DJ'ing for, just that it was in the Dining Commons. Turns out there is this high school program for kids getting like a leg up preparing for college or something called Saturday Scholars, which is basically kids going to classes on Saturdays. Today was their commencement. I didn't even do anything except eat some free food and talk to the other DJs. Monica did all the "work", which consisted of playing 2 songs when asked for people performing, and keeping something on at various other times. BORING BORING BORING. But it's 4 volunteer hours I won't have to have when the semester starts.

A bunch of people from the station are going to Great America tomorrow. Not me. I hate roller coasters with a passion. I'll go ahead and say all roller coasters because I assume that purists will get pissed if I call Space Mountain a roller coaster. That is about the extent of any such ride that you will get me on. Am I in the minority??

Tonight I went out and bought the Dream Theater "Metropolis 2000: Scenes from New York" DVD where they played the entire new album straight through, with some extra solo work from Petrucci because he's just such a badass. It was killer to hear that material live. LaBrie is actually quite the singer, I have to give him that. The cool parts of the DVD are that there is also a commentary track where the whole band sat down and watched their own performance, plus some extra live footage that is rare I guess, a Behind the Scenes thing......not bad for a band's DVD of a performance. Mike Portnoy's drum performance has to be seen to be believed. His kit is HUGE.

Petrucci will be on this year's G3 tour. They are playing SF on the 30th. I would love to go see that.

If I see one more movie where the bad guy says to the good guy "We're actually very similar, you & I" or something along those lines, I will scream. Another movie cliche to get ripped on in our parody screenplay. Yeah, that one that has been sitting around for months now. :)

I also saw a Pearl Jam DVD concert at Virgin. Almost bought it. Might still, unless Adam decides to.

Hmmmmmm.......nothing else really. Random thoughts are now out and saved. Still might do that girl rant....but not tonight. Tonight I need sleepy. For no real reason, it's not like I have to study tomorrow!

I got a C- in my Logic class. That pissed me off, because I wanted to do better. I figure, it I got mad over it that's a good sign because I want to improve.

Torry is really cute. Kayda is great to talk to. Mary is an awesome friend for calling me on being an ass. Bonnie is my cutie pie princess. I thought I had a girl rant??? :)

Hey!...finally somebody who likes Pearl Jam... everybody I talk to completely hates them for some reason... even my guitar teacher. The lead guitarist for that band is awesome... I saw them playing live on vh-1 once. It was cool. but anyway, yeah.
