I find it odd all of a sudden that for every post I've made to the journal so far, there are only 3 (maybe a 4th crept in) CDs in the Current Music part - Rhapsody, Braveheart, and Overkill. I'm actually listening to Rhapsody right now. And the Overkill CD just finished. Actually, the weirdest thing is that I have a 3 disc changer, and the 3 that I just mentioned are the ones in there right now. So either they inspire me to write, or something really creepy is going on. Maybe they have subliminal messages. Who knows.

Current Mood: weird weird
Currently Blasting: Rhapsody - Symphony of Enchanted Lands

Rhapsody are unlike any band I have ever heard. They refer to themselves as "Epic Hollywood metal" but I hate the description. They are from Italy and are quite entrancing. Basically a fantastically composed mix of great male vocals, standard guitars/drums/bass for metal bands, with violins, keyboards, choirs, string sections, orchestrated intros, mellow piano & lute songs.....it might sound like it would conflict, but they songwriters are so good it never does. They have 3 albums, all of which I own, and I prefer the 2nd "Symphony of Enchanted Lands". "Legendary Tales" was the debut, and is very good, and "Dawn of Victory" came out in November. Honestly, if you like them I have no clue who to recommend. Symphony X or Dream Theater maybe. For a good sampling, try these songs: Emerald Sword, Wisdom of the Kings, Dark Tower of the Abyss (which I love), Triumphy of My Magic Steel, Holy Thunderforce, and Symphony of Enchanted Lands. Just try to forgive some corny spoken word intros. :)
