Yay, you are not good enough to be married!

Ok, so I do actually agree with the ruling because it's what the law says.  It's just that the law needs to be changed.  It's the same reason I agreed with Boy Scouts being allowed to exclude gays and atheists, because it follows the law.  They just need to change their policies.

If there's one fight I want to be a part of until it's won, it's this one.  I'm so disgusted by people who treat other humans this way.

There definately would've been a better chance to change said law, had the mayor not taken it upon himself to interprit the law as he saw fit. Now, you have every right-wing conservative group pissed off and organized to stop gay-marriage.

i just wish i understood what bothered people about gay marriage. there's nothing fundamentally different about it at all.

It seems to me that those who are against gay marriage are those who view homosexuality as amoral and wrong, people who want to shove their version of the a-typical American relationship down everyone else's throats, and they aren't happy unless you see the world as they see it. I'm all for it. Hell, it can't do any more damage to marriage than the 60% or so divource rate amoungst heterosexual couples. If not marriage in essence, at the very least allow them the same rights and privilages as heterosexual couples.
