Getting caught up
Goodness, methinks I will have a bunch to say, assuming I can remember it all.

Today's my day off, but that doesn't really mean anything. I had a dentist appointment at 9:15 down in Elk Grove so I had to wake up. I have great teeth for some reason (all the Coke I drink, I'm amazed I haven't had more cavities), but my gums suck. Because I forget to brush them too. And I'm not particularly religious about flossing either. On further inspection, aren't gums really weird? And who came up with that name anyway? Whatever. I plan on spending most of today at least starting my second short story. It's hard to start writing it when the professor keeps letting us turn it later and later. It was originally supposed to be in Monday or Wednesday of this week, but Friday would be OK.....then yesterday we find out that we can have it in by NEXT Wednesday but if we wait that long it won't be duplicated for the class. Boo hoo. I would like to get it done ASAP, but who knows. It's not like I'll be able to put in her box tomorrow anyway, since I have to work all day. I don't even have any ideas yet for what to write.

Then I have a final oral presentation to do next Monday, grand. I'm thinking I want to do another ballad so it won't be too short like a simple poem but I have too many other things to worry about finishing to get really involved in it.

In my Symbolic Logic class, the professor has this practice of naming rules for natural deduction that we come up with and aren't in the book, after the person who came up with it. Hope that made sense. Anyway, a few weeks back I came up with one, but I thought it was kinda weak, so I let someone else have it. Now, with 1 class left I probably won't get another shot, and now I want my rule back. The duration is only for the rest of the semester but it might have been fun to have something named after me, if only for 4 months. I got my 3rd test back from that class, yesterday. I got an 87. Works for me, considering I didn't go to class the week before the rest. I might do a post on what Symbolic Logic actually is later, not that anyone's interested. :)

Now a couple things I wanted to say about basketball.....

Shaquille O'Neal is not a great basketball player. He simply isn't that talented. He is easily the largest man to ever play professionally in the USA, but there are a ton of centers with more ability. He can't shoot from more than 5 feet away from the basket, he can't dribble, he can't pass, he can't hit free throws.....what is so special about him? Yeah, he dominates games, but if I was 7-2 and 330+, I could too. I wish people would stop considering him the Messiah of the NBA or something.

The other thing is, why do players complain to the referees if they don't like the call or if they think they deserve a call? When was the last time you saw a ref reverse his call? Um, NEVER. Complaining about it does little, aside from putting you out of the play and giving the ref more cause to hit you with a T.

End rant.

Normally we get paid every 2 weeks or so, basically a week after putting in our timesheets. The last timesheet we put in was last Monday, the 30th. It's been a week and a half and I haven't seen a paycheck yet. This is unacceptable. I am literally broke, not counting the 6 dollars or so I still have in my wallet. Thank god for overdraft protection. I have a phone bill and a Visa bill due and I can't pay them. It's pissing me off. I'm going to call and find out if they have gotten paid today, and if so, I am going to the office to get my $$ because I don't like starving.

I was notified by e-mail yesterday that I had won 2 tickets to see Robert LePage at the UC Davis main theatre this saturday. The funny thing is, I don't remember entering that contest. Last Thursday was a Philip Glass performance, which I did want to go to, and a couple days prior I entered the drawing to win tickets. I read afterwards that the entires had to be in prior to May 1, so I figured I was out of luck. I dunno, maybe they took mine and put in the drawing for this one. Doesn't matter to me, it's the first drawing of any kind I ever won. Reading up on the actual performance, it sounds like a one-man theatrical performance.

Of course, I have 2 tickets. And nobody to take. Anyone interested? Seriously. I think it's like at 8 on Saturday or something. Get cultured (TM).

Drawing a blank again. Ah well. I'm hungry. It happens.

About Shaquill... I went to plenty of Orlando Magic games when I was in like sixth grade. My mom had sky box tickets from her work. Anyway... I hated him then! Because I thought all the exact same reasons as you!! But exactly when he left the team. The Orlando Magic hasn't won anything since... at all. That's just something I have concluded. He's on the L.A. lakers, right?

Also, I would like to go to that show with you!

It is foolish to deny the impact of Shaq's mere presence on the court.

However, 80% of that is size, and 20% is skill.

Too bad you are way over there....but I got me a date anyway ;)

I was joking about the date thing. Glad you got one.
