Non-tech geeks will probably not care too much about this post. Fair warning!

Getting some help from a guy I work with on particular brands, models, etc. on parts since I haven't bothered to keep up with technology, here's a rough idea for the specs on my computer I will put together:

AMD Athlon Tbird 900 Mhz
Abit KT7 MB
128 MB PC100 SDRAM
30GB UDMA 7200RPM HDD
ATX Case w/300W Power supply
A new keyboard
A new sound card - probably Creative Labs something
*option: 12X DVD ROM
*option: Logitech trackball
*option: Logitech webcam

It's the shipping that kicks your ass. PriceWatch.comrules.

I want to get a new monitor later on, a 17" one like I have at work. And then I'll go for a better sound system, Cambridge or something similar. I just think it would be cool to watch DVDs on my computer up here and actually be able to use the stuff some put on there specifically for DVD ROMs.

I am such a geek! :)

go with Creative!

Definetly go with a sounblaster live! mp3/gamer/platinum. They have the best driver update service through live ware! and are the industry standard.
