I'm reluctant to think that I've finally found the major for me. Every time so far that I've declared, or seemed to decide or anything, I've inevitably lost interest fairly quickly and ended up back in the starting block. About the only thing that I've figured out so far is a few majors that I don't want to do. But I was once again browsing the philosophy major - which by the way, wouldn't need to exist if there weren't jobs for it out there (take that dad!) - and came upon the concentration for Applied Ethics and Law. Apparently it's only 2 years old, which is why it's not in the catalog I have. It sounded very interesting, all the course descriptions sound fun, and it would only take me 3 semesters to get through. It's intended mostly for pre-law students, which I seem to keep coming back to anyway. At this point I'm just fearful that I'll once again jump in with both feet only to find myself bored and unmotivated. But something is nagging at me; like it will be different this time. So I asked myself: what do I like to do? Think and write. What would this major ask of me? Think and write. Sounds fun to me. Now I want to learn what types of law there are to practice. Maybe working in a law firm rubbed off on me a little. I just hope I'm not doing this in any capacity for that lawyer I'm still smitten with......
