I thought, why does a stigma against finding that one person for you online continue to exist? It would seem that sheer probability would dispel such a notion.

Having the ability to communicate with people all over the world in real time should be hailed as a godsend. How likely is it, really, that you will meet the person of your dreams in the city you live in? Speaking strictly in terms of chance, it can't be very high. Having even all the people in a 50 mile radius at your fingertips increases the odds immensely, and continuing to expand it from there is even better.
