I wonder if people make their candidate-voting decisions based on the ads they see. Like, if people watch the massive smear campaign against Riordan by the Davis backers, and go "man that Riordan guy is a sleaze, I'll never vote for him." I mean, of course he will be painted like that.

One of the things that bothers me about those ads is the way things are given as evidence. It will say (without the quotes, those are mine) "Against abortion" and then give a date and the name of a paper. I don't understand how that is a valid way to present evidence against someone, unless of course its simply because there is no good quotational evidence so they have to work with what they can get their hands on.

Then there's that Simon dude, who is very good at telling you how Davis screwed up, but other than 'I won't put any new taxes into effect" he doesn't really have any ideas for how to change things for the better.
