Has anyone else noticed the gas prices plummeting? Yeah, I didn't think so. Its funny how when gas prices go up half a cent, every news station in the country goes ballistic, but when it drops 50 cents in six months, nobody bats an eyelash. Its like M. said...good news doesn't get you ratings.

I now have a new monitor, new speakers, a new CD-RW, and a new game, and they are all worthless or underused because of this ass computer I am forced to cope with. The latest in my motherboard saga is that 5 days after being told that my motherboard was supposedly tested flawlessly, I had yet to hear from anyone about what to do from that point. They said "You will be contacted shortly by customer support". Apparently "shortly" to them means 4 weeks. So I wrote them and said I wanted my board back. I got a reply yesterday - "You will need to pay the shipping to have it sent back to you". That was the whole fucking message. I would have been less irate if they had told me how to arrange that. But they didn't. So I wrote them another reply saying I just wanted to my business to be done with them so I would never have to deal with them again. Worst customer service I have seen. And I went ahead and bought another board from another site because it will get here faster. *sigh*

2 finals Monday. Ancient & Early Modern Philosophy classes. All my studying this weekend is for those. After Monday I can figure out the rest. One more week of the semester. There is a legitimate possibility that I will not be in school next semester. Its possible that I will be "disqualified", i.e. kicked out for bad grades. It doesn't really faze me. In fact, if it happens, I look at it as a kind of freedom. Like its the decision that should have been made before it got this far, but it had to be made for me. I blame myself - but only partly. Its partly my parents' fault too. No, it is. Too much pressure to do the normal thing, and go to school and graduate and then get a job, etc. School right now is a distraction. Do you know how much I envy my roommate on Sunday nights, when I'm thinking "OK, after Simpsons what do I have to have ready for school tomorrow?" and he's thinking "OK, after Simpsons how long can I play Diablo II tonight so I'm not sleep tomorrow?"? I want to have the freedom to explore creative interests. Its where my concentration is. School is this nagging reminder that I should be doing X instead of Y. I like Y. Fuck X. If I don't get a degree until I'm 26, who cares. I'm doing things backward. I want to vest some substantial time and effort into things now, and not wait. They just happen to be non-institutionalized education. Plus, it would enable me to have a full time job, and be able to save some money for once. The prospect is simply more appealing. Whether the reality turns out that way or not doesn't really matter.

I toy with the thought of continuing my education somewhere else. Another state, perhaps. A change. A significant change.

Yeah i was really suprised to see how low gas has gotten in comparision to what is was over the summer. Funny how no one has mentioned it. I can't wait til I get my car up here. I hope it goes lower.
