I'm reading a book right now called "The Giza Powerplant". It is basically one guy's theory about the Great Pyramid - that it is in fact not a tomb for Kings' final resting places at all, but rather a technologically advanced machine that has been misinterpreted for centuries. Right now he is discrediting the hell out of the traditional theories using a ton of evidence for what is actually inside the pyramid, and later he will explain just how each seemingly pointless part of it has a purpose if you think of it as a machine.

Now, I don't have much hope of being convinced in full, but I think it's an interesting idea - I mean, if you can make a good case for something, why the hell not? I was always taught in history that the pyramids were giant mausoleums, really. What if all the little passageways were part of a larger scheme, not meant to server a specific purpose on their own? I haven't even gotten into the first part of a basis for his argument, but I look forward to it. Apparently there are a lot of ideas out there about what the Great Pyramid was really used for.
